Mine didn’t begin in a fashion capital. It began with a suitcase, a dream, and an unwavering belief that purpose often lives on the other side of comfort.
The life before
For years, I built my life in Canada.
I studied Biochemistry, worked across technology and business, and later became a professional makeup artist and educator. I owned a makeup school back in Canada, closed it down, and made the move.
On paper, everything looked stable.
But deep inside, I knew I wasn’t building
the legacy I was created for.
I wasn’t searching for another job.
I was searching for purpose.
The decision
Leaving Canada
wasn’t easy.
It meant walking away from familiarity, certainty, and everything I had spent years building. It meant starting over in a country where I knew almost no one, with no guarantees that my vision would succeed.
People saw a move.
I saw a calling.
I chose Dubai because it is a city built by dreamers — people willing to leave comfort behind to build something extraordinary. Its appreciation for craftsmanship, elegance, and ambition made it the place where I believed my vision could come to life.
The purpose
Maison AshShifa was never created
simply to sell abayas.
It was created to restore meaning to modest luxury.
In a world of fast fashion, disposable trends, and mass production, I wanted to create pieces that women would treasure — not for one season, but for years.
Every fabric is chosen with intention.

Our philosophy
Luxury, to me, has never been

The name
AshShifa — the Arabic word for healing.
That meaning shapes everything we create.
I believe clothing has the power to change how a woman carries herself.
